The story of Capt'n Eli's begins in 1920s when the Maine based Forsley family began crafting their own rootbeer in the basement. Young, entrepreneurial Eli Forsley began selling his dad's root beer to his friends and neighbors. By the third generation of basement-brewing root beer lovers, Eli's son, Fred Forsley, began selling the family root beer to the general public at his restaurant in Kennebunk, Maine. The root beer quickly became a big deal at the restaurant, and Fred began bottling in 2002. As they say...the rest is history, and this brand now offers eight flavors.
